Fallen Thoughts

I've spent the past week moving into my new home. it's still strange calling it home, partly due to the fact that it just doesn't feel like it yet. between all the work that comes along with moving (painting, cleaning, unpacking, yadda yadda) and spending time with kayla, I really haven't had a chance to settle in. I've been back in douglas all weekend - had a garage sale with josh saturday morning and a long, lazy sunday is quickly coming to an end. I'm heading back to athens tomorrow, but I'll only be there a few days before we head out for bonnaroo. maybe by july or so I'll be comfortable calling it "home".

in a related story, kayla's moving to douglas for the summer. we just found out (or rather, it was decided) a few days ago, so that hasn't really set in either. after waiting for so long for this summer together, it seems almost unreal that it all fell apart in an hour or so. I would go into reasons and details, but then I'd get pissed off and rant on and on about things that aren't important. besides, this is a happy place. no need for negativity. I will say that I'm really disappointed, but I suppose that's a given.

on a better note, my roommates are two of the best - and mitchell gets a nod for his vinyl collection alone. I forsee many hours of needle on the black. I'm hoping to finish unpacking in the next couple of days and maybe get the bar cleaned up for a pre-bonnaroo celebration. either way, I look forward to seeing everyone at the house for the meetup. I already know two faces that will be sorely missed, so the new guys will be gladly welcomed.

a little after 4 am should be as good a time as any to call it a night. josh is gonna caravan with me to athens tomorrow afternoon, so wish us a safe trip. and to whom it may concern, see you there..

and just in case you assumed from my tone that I'm not excited about the 'roo - don't be mistaken. I'm pumped like bike tires. I'm not so happy about having to decide between the roots and the allman brothers, nor am I happy about ben harper and bela & the 'tones overlapping, but those aren't bad decisions to have to make.
